RESUMO

Rural constructions designs in general present some particular features that allow standardizing their frameworks. That concept applies on shelters for small, medium or large animals. The standard adopted in those cases is a shed with two splinted-side-roof compounded of truss-frame for roof support, linear elements - beams and columns - and flagging. In this paper a procedure to systematize the steps of livestock building design is presented. The procedure takes into account the design of architecture, loads, load combinations, construction materials, and the evaluation of structural elements and frame. The main aim is to provide agricultural engineers with a tool to deal specifically with structural analysis of that type of building.
