RESUMO

This work aims to discuss some aspects of the notion of Time presented to high school students in the subject of Physics. Presuming that the notion of time, and its possible meanings, is well known - and thus restrictive, since the theme is complex enough to have demanded contribution from most areas of human knowledge for its understanding -, we propose to bring together science and art in a vicinity that might contribute to strengthen both, as well as offer to the students a broader comprehension of Time and its meanings. Thereby, notions as Linear Time, Cyclical Time, Entropy and the Time Arrow are presented by characters such as Marco Polo and Nikola Tesla, that undertake a voyage through various times and places in the search for a greater understanding of Time, its demonstrations and relationship with man. These characters, among others, both personify the historical figures they stand for, and bring about the issues to be discussed in the text. Physics is the center of this voyage, for it represents, in our understanding, a fundamental bondage between the technological, social and artistic aspects of man and his presence in the world. The thesis is composed by the entries of the diary of one of the characters. This diary will afterwards be found by a physics high school teacher. In possession of this diary this teacher reflects about his practice in the discussion of time and how he can take control of changes towards an enhanced experience for himself and his students.
