RESUMO

This work presents the development of a software package for antenna analysis using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. The varous features of the software are presented, such as mesh generation, source modeling, boundary conditions and generation of radiation patterns. All elements had been implemented in a modular way, with a userfriendly graphical interface that allows the inclusion and configuration of diverse elements that compose the simulation and the three-dimensional visualization of the analyzed structures. The software has also a module for visualization of the simulation results and the possibility to generate field animations through color scales. The software, named FDTD STUDIO, was entirely developed in C++ language, and for its object oriented conception, allow new functionalities to be added in a simple and fast way. To illustrate the versatility and accuracy of the software, some antenna models, such as dipole, monopole, horns and microstrip antennas have been analyzed. The results have been compared with results from others authors and also from others commercial software.
