RESUMO

This work had as main objective the development of an equipment for the experimental determination of the characteristic curve of suction, and the experimental determination of the effective permeability to unmixed fluids in multiphase systems (three phases), specifically gasoline, water and air, being focused the several properties involved in the multiphase flow of fluids in unsaturated soils. For so much it was projected, built and put in operation, in the Laboratório de Geotecnia Ambiental of the Escola Politécnica of UFBA, a constituted equipment of four flexible wall permeameters, system of flow measurement in the three phases, system of acquisition of data automated, application system and pressure control in all of the phases in an independent way and system of application of constant flow (flow bomb). It is presented in this work a detailed description of all of the component units of the developed equipment, as well as the procedures adopted for the accomplishment of the rehearsals, the found difficulties and the adopted solutions. Seeking to evaluate the operation of the developed equipment, préoperation tests and gauging were accomplished, with the sedimentary soil of the formation Barreiras. The results of the accomplished tests indicate that the developed equipment and the implemented experimental techniques can be constituted important tools in the obtaining of data as the interaction and transport of the gasoline in unsaturated soils.
