The oxidation of the tributary and textile effluent was done in batch for 5 and 2 h, respectively. The ozone generation used was approximately 1085.25 mgO3 h-1 with air flowrate of 8 L min-1. The following physicalchemical parameters were determined: temperature, pH, turbidity, conductivity, true color, bicarbonate alkalinity, volatile acids, chemical oxygen demand (COD), total solids, suspended solids and dissolved solids. The color removal efficiency for both effluent (raw) and the effluent (treated in the industry) was significant with an average of 85% and 90%, respectively. The kinetic constant of the second order was better adjusted to the results of the parameters color and COD. In the ozonation of the industrial affluent and color removal analysis, the highest kinetic constant (k2) obtained was 0.0015 UPC-1 min-1 and the highest removal rate (r) was 392 UPC min-1 between 60 and 120 minutes of treatment. In the effluent treatment, the highest k2was 0.0404 UPC-1 min-1 and the highest r was 5,834 min-1 in the first 15 minutes of treatment. For COD the highest kinetic constant (k2) in the ozonation of the industrial tributary was 0.0015 mgCOD-1 min-1 and the highest removal rate (r) was 19.2 min-1 in the first hour of treatment. In the ozonation of the effluent the highest (k2) was 0.0445 min-1 with the highest r of 233.9 UPC min-1. In general the removal velocity was always higher for true color than COD, with r = 1932.25 min-1 and 177.43 min-1 for effluent and effluent, respectively.
