Detecção imuno-histoquímica de células de langerhans em granuloma dentário e cisto radicular

RESUMO

Dental Granuloma and Radicular Cysts represent chronic periapical lesions that frequently affect the jaw bones. The Langerhans Cells are dendritic antigen-presenting cells that initiate primary T-lymphocyte-dependent immune response T. These cells play a important role in normal and pathological epithelial tissues as those seen in periapical chronic lesions. Better to understand the participation of the LC in DG and RC, we examined the density of LCs in 18 DG and 26 RC by immunohistochemical method using marker CD1a. The dendritic cells were more found in RC (69,2%) than in DG (11,1%) showing significant correlation statistically (P=0,000). In RC, intraepithelial LCs exhibited round-shaped or dendrtic-shaped appearance with variable density reaching all epithelial layers. In DG, LCs were only seen in granulation tissue with discret or weak density. Statistically, there was not correlation between density of marking and epithelial thickness or density of LCs and inflammatory response. In conclusion, these findings suggest that Langerhans Cells are involved in pathogenesis of periapical lesions.
