RESUMO

This work s main proposal is to increase the knowledge about mathematical models on hydro-plants optimizations. It is based on the economic dispatch and predispatch models, according to a new approach that inc1udes a representation of each turbine/generator set. The first part treats the relationship between the turbine generators operation variables, in order to provide a mathematical model. Based on this first result, two predispatch approaches are proposed, in which the first one is formulated in terms of hydraulic variables, and the second one is formulated in terms of active power. The first model minimizes the total water consumption, and the second one minimizes the total losses. The fundamental hypothesis of this study is the equivalency between the two approaches
