RESUMO

This work addresses the development of magnetic elds meters at low frequencies. The sensing elements used are induction coils and the Chattock-Rogowski coils, both with non-ferromagnetic cores. Theoretical and experimental studies on the working principle of these sensors are presented, considering the practical aspects related to their non-ideal behavior. The techniques used to manufacture of the sensors used in this work are also discussed. Because of low sensitivity feature of this type of sensors some special analog circuits for ltering and amplication have been implemented to provide a signicant increase in the signal-to-noise ratio of the electrical signal of the sensors. The display and processing of information are performed using virtual instruments developed in the LabVIEW platform with the use of data acquisition cards and personal computers. Finally, techniques for calibration of the meters are presented, and also cases where this meters are used for magnetic characterization of an environment, detection of defects in induction motors and measurement of electrical currents in large dimensions conductive structures.
