RESUMO

The competitiveness in the national and the international market challenges the managers of agricultural production to make fast and efficient decisions in a daily bases. Therefore the availability of data and the transformation of it in informations that supports and guides decisions is crucial. This is a need that extends to all productive agricultural sectors, particularly in intensive systems of cultivation or rearing, where the control and the correct set of variables that directly affect the productivity is critical. This work has as its main objective, the development of a system for supervision, communication and integration of data in protected environments, as greenhouses and poultryhouses. With the system´s requirements and the integration of technology available, it is developing a hardware and software specification for the components of the system. This specification involves the selection of a microprocessed module to control remote interfaces for data acquisition through RS485 network. For this module It was developed a specific program in C language for data acquisition and drives, besides the communication with the system for supervision through a wireless Ethernet network, using the Modbus / TCP protocol. The system for supervision was developed in Visual Basic platform using the OPC interface for communication with the microprocessor module and presents resources for monitoring, registration and inquiry to database, remote drive and management of events. All this resources was provided by the package of ActiveX components called DAQBench, provided by the Adlink Company and inserted in Visual Basic. At the end of this work it is developed a prototype for simulation of the integration, considering the suitability of the technology used in the application through the functional tests. The 802.11b Ethernet network used is also considered in a field application. The results of these tests prove the technical feasibility of the system developed and the potential for its application in the field
