RESUMO
The present work had for objective the development of a microcomputer program to determine the drying time of seeds and crops for fixed bed. It was used three lots of soybean seeds of cultivate Monsoy 7575 storage in a perforated floor drying bin with 1,86m of diameter and seed depth of 1,21m. The seeds were dried to 12% (wet basis). Before storage, the seeds were cleaned in a air screen machine to remove undesirable materials. The air flow was 0,43m3.s-1.m-3 (35,64m3.min-1.t-1) and the air was heated of until 5C by a set of electrical resistances. In addition, the pressure drop across grain seed bed was measured for the air flow rates 0,12 e 0,43m3.s-1.m-3 (9,82 e 35,64m3. min-1.t-1). The experimental results were compared to results of developed program concluding that the model and equations used are valid to simulate soybean seeds drying in a fixed bed and the use of microcomputers and specific programs make possible the use of this tool by professionals without physic and mathematic model phenomena knowledge. Another result showed that it has a variation of lesser pressure that the gotten one for the expression of HUKILL &SHEDD (1955) with coefficients of the D272.3 standard of American Society of Agricultural Engineers. New coefficients were established for the HUKILL &SHEDD expression.
