RESUMO

The herbicide glyphosate belongs to the organofosforous group, its active ingredient is the acid Glyphosate N-(Fosfometil) Glicyn and its action mode is by the competitive inhibition of the enzyme 5enolpiruvilshiquimato-3fosfato sintase (EPSPS). Several works found in the literature point out problems of fitotoxicity, reduction of productivity and the presence of residues of herbicides and other insumes in plants and seeds, cause, sometimes, losses in the commercial value and the quality of the product. The objective of this work was to evaluate the physiological quality, chemical composition, enzymatic activity, leaf area and pigment of convencional and transgenic soybean cultivars submitted to different doses of glyphosate. Soybean seeds cv. CD 216 (convencional) and CD 212RR (transgenic) were soaked in glyphosate (zero; 1,8; 3,6; 5,2 and 7,0gL -1 of e.a of glyphosate) during 30 minutes, and immediately after, it was evaluated the physiological quality, chemical composition and enzymatic activity of the seeds. According to the results, it can be concluded that the glyphosate herbicide, in general, induce physiological quality losses in transgenic seeds. The chemical compositon of soybean seeds of convencional and transgenic, decreases with the increase of glyphosate dosage. Enzimatic activity in soybean seeds reduces along the time. The leaf area and pigments in soybean seedlings do decrease as increases the glyphosate dosage, independent of de plant type.
