RESUMO

This thesis presents the results of the investigation about Social Representations of teachers from the superior teaching, who graduates teachers, related to the professional power of teacher . The theory-methodological basis of the apprehension and analysis of the social representation of researched teachers, are supported in the Theory of the Social Representations, created by the Serge Moscovici, and enlarged by the other researchers of this knowledge field. The research was developed with 13(thirteen) licentiateship courses of public and private universities of the State of Pernambuco. To access the social representation of the subjects of research, halfstructure interviews were made and two focal groups, these groups were determined according to the criterion of âpedagogic generationâ In addition to this, some questionnaires were applied to the interviewed teachers and to a team of licentiate. The investigation resulted in three distinct social representations, which bring the marks of the formative and practical processes of the licentiateship courses. The study which advocates the importance of the social representations of professors of the licentiateship courses related to the professional power of the teachers by the fact they express themselves in the disorganization of teacher profession, besides revealing the constitutive elements of the teachers professional power such as: the specific knowledge of limited area of work market and also the process formation control and the teachersâ professional practice
