DegradaÃÃo ambiental causada pelo ruÃdo: O caso dos templos religiosos

RESUMO

Big cities, day by day, have been the target of environmental discomfort and significant deterioration of the quality of life caused by the exposion to excessive level of noise. The objective of this research was to analyze the problem of the noise pollution in the context of the city of GoiÃnia. The main sources of noise were identified as being residences (39%), bars and their analogs (25%). A new observed phenomenon was the proliferation of religious temples that in disordered way occupied the urban area. Based on the monitoring of the level o f noise emitted by the temples and application of questionnaires to their neighbors and frequenters itâs been verified that 98% if temples have the level of noise emitted above the established by the legislation of county and that 57,5% of the neighbor identified a negative point in the presence of religious temples in their neighborhood. Allied to this disorderly occupation there is the lack of effective inspection by the public power which hasnât go the needed tools to perform it.
