RESUMO

This essay entitled From riverains to inlanders of the semi-arid region: the socioeducational intervention in the trajectory of those people affected by dams, is a study of the trajectory of the people that were resettled and has as goal, on one hand, to analyse the organization of the historical process and the creation of the Nucleo Fazenda Nova (New Farm Nucleus). On the other hand, the goal is to understand the relationships that were established between the dwellers and the sociocommunitarian organization and further to evaluate the contribution that the educational process put into practice during the institutional intervention has brought to the sociocommunitarian organization of the people that were resettled. It is a work that used in its analysis of references the educational theory and the sociological theory. The methodological trajectory is based on dialectic that tries to understand the reality of considering subject as a social being and historically constructed. For such the qualitative approach of the case study type was adopted, since the representations, the conflicts, the historical, cultural, political and social determiners do not follow degrees of linearity, but appear interrelated and characterized by the specificity of the different contexts. Likewise the semi structured interview and the focal group were used as techniques of collecting data. To complete the information the documental analysis was also used. The study subjects were 37 people distributed according to their representation. The data analysis was guided by the contents analysis technique that through the identification of the sense nuclei found in the interviews, allowed to define the categories of analyses. The results reveal that the creation of the Nucleo Fazenda Nova happened arbitrarily, not considering the wish of the people that were resettled not to be transferred to that location. Consequently the participation of the resettled people as to better life conditions through the sociocommunitarian organization has not been set off yet. With the process of transference occurred the breakage of their identity as people living on riverbanks; however, the collective facing of the socioenvironmental difficulties has permitted that the identity of the inlanders of the semi-arid region be built. Presently the people that were resettled consider themselves as pertaining to the community, overcoming the initial ignorance. Nevertheless they do not possess the feeling of pertaining to the location, which puts them into the perspective of new uprooting.
