De Labov a Bakhtin: dois exercícios de análise para textos orais

RESUMO

The present work analyses the oral production of two secondary school students within two different theoretical frames: the Labovian one (Labov 1967) and the Bakhtinian one (Bahktin, 1929,1979). The labovian analysis, using the concept of narrative sequence, proved to be limited when it came to understanding the process of oral production in the classroom environment. On the other hand, the bakhtinian concepts of discursive genres and dialogical nature of texts helped uncover the complexity of the circulating texts within the classroorn. Besides, enunciative bases aided in bringing light to the role of school genres in the process of text production. Both analytical exercises, each at its manner, contributed to recover some important aspects related to teacher s role, classroom work and the exploitation of school and schooled genres in language lessons
