RESUMO

This dissertation has the objective to discuss the freudians conceptions and notions of welfare and discontent, as well as to evidence the problems among the expectations that are deposited in this conception. The paper shows different freudians conceptions about discontent and characteristics of its own epochs. Three freudians references were mainly utilized: Studies in Hysteria (1895), The Interpretation of Dreams (1900) and Civilization and its Discontents (1930). Each one is a sample of a specific state in psychoanalytical theory. The first one is related to the period while Freud is still a doctor and shows a conception of discontent associated to disease and health that involve cure notion. The second one is utilized as real psychoanalytical conceptions and the impact of the conceptions in discontent. The last one brings characteristics of a mature psychoanalysis and a radical conception about discontent. It is not only circumstantial, but inherent to the condition of human-being. It shows that the conceptions of cure, characteristic of the beginning of psychoanalyses, are not applicable during the thirties and is a new start about the specificity in psychoanalytical field related to possibilities of welfare and discontent.
