Cultura brasileira: perspectivas de profissionais brasileiros que trabalham nos Estados Unidos

RESUMO

This paper contributes to the discussion of the Brazilian cultures role in organizations. Data was obtained by semi-structured interviews with Brazilian professionals who live in the United States. The analysis found the following Brazilian culture features as the most relevant among the interviewees perspective: kindness and emotive soul; time management; flexibility, creativity and decision making, hierarchy relationship and systematization. These features were interpreted accordingly the specific social interaction network which involves each individual. The interpretation, based on the symbolic interationism approach, revealed the circumstances that those cultural features are felt and disclosed and how they can last. A literature review was done and no research was found about the Brazilian culture according to Brazilians who live and work abroad. This research fills this gap and presents a particular manner of thinking the Brazilian culture inside the organizations: the subject perspective.
