RESUMO

This work investigates the contributions of Production Medias in The Visual Language. The main focus is based on the search of the expressive potential of the different Medias and the innpvations they can provide in the evolution of Human Communications. The investigation deals with the processes of communication territories: the sign s uni verse. The search methods adopted herein are the Charles Sanders peirce Semiotic principIes. The methodological choice was determined because the Semiotic system has the attributions that mostly comprise expectations about the object in study. The syntatical analysis of the Visual Language was priviledged by the following two reasons: First, as the Visual specificalness was searched for, the best way achieved was by means of the syntatical analysis of its language. The second motive is the syntax s great expressive potential of Eletronic Medias. These differ from the others (Handcraft and Mechanic Medias) as they belong to our historical reality and arise more interest. According to observations of the universe searched compreending technical and cognitive aspects of communication, one notices their connection by two territories, such as: The questions referring to Mind Elaboration Language and those related to Production Media of this language. As the two above frontiers are the habitat of the sign, the common points will be found therein. The visual sign s syntatic analysis determined, through the semiotic principIes, the Visual Language Classification. The specific attributes of the Production Media were recognized through that Classification. By this way, this work estimates the Visual Language by semiotic principIes; attains the contributions of its Production Media and, finally, offers experiments directed by cognitive processes and expressive possibilities of Eletronic media, confirming the hereby presented theory.
