RESUMO

This dissertation s object of study is the discussion about the contribution of work, occupation and income public policies for local development work. The analysis was made from setorial work, employment and income public policies at federal, state and municipal levels, excelling on the analysis of such policies s on a delimited space. I try to contribute for this theme s analysis from that delimitation so as to evaluate, approximately, the set of work-oriented policies and their performance in the municipality of Blumenau, identifying how they operate in a social, economic and geographic specific space. To delimitate this study, the following categories were analysed, in the theoretical referential: transformation in the working world, public occupation and income policies, and local development. In the empyrical referential, the methodology excelled for the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data. It was possible to visualize some impact from employment and income public policies on local development, through not only the number of incentivated companies and generated and estimated jobs, as well as generated occupation and income in rural and urban areas. However, this work has no intention of exhausting the subject, but furnishing data for an approach to the object, so as to contribute for other researches.
