RESUMO

This work aims to study the conservation area named Parque Natural Municipal Jacarenema (PNMJ) in Barra of the Jucu, in Vila Velha, state of Espírito Santo (Brazil), inspired by the paradigm of "geosystem" proposed by Sotchava, in a systematization proposed by Bertrand, in light of current physical geography, which is concerned about the research component of the geographical landscape, their interactions and integration, without ignoring the actual participation of human activities, directly responsible for changes of primitives and geosystems and geofacies, as in this case, the geosystem of the coastal plain that composes the geofacies analyzed in this research. Under a systemic view, we sought to characterize the ecological potential, focusing on geomorphological, climatic and hydrological factors for the presence of such geofácies in PNMJ. We also analyze the biological exploration (physiognomy of vegetation) that these geofacies exhibit in the space, as well as systematized whole is the evolution of human action, both in social or economic, developed primarily within the limits of the PNMJ and has contributed significantly to the change of environment as a whole
