RESUMO

Proposing an investigantion about the notion of autobiography in theatre, this dissertation discusses the criteria that might accredit a drama text in the autobiographical gender and their possible implications. This reflexion starts from the autobiographical pact concept, by Philippe Lejeune, which establishes theoretical support to this category. From this background, this research analyses Mauro Rasis trilogy of plays and Pérola. This corpus allows the development of the proposed discussion, as well as demonstrates the mass media acting in the reception process. Through the journalistic and publicity production, the media acts as an extra-literary way, able to fill out eventual gaps between author, narrator and character identity relationship. At last, this dissertation suggests a sort of autobiographical pact enlargement, so-called pact by proxy
