RESUMO

The aim of this research is to verify the influence of commitment and trust in decision making process in suply chains. Were studied in this research two relationships between one supplier and two clients, all the companies from the automobile industry. This research was based on a case study. The data were obtained form primary and secondary sources by means of semi-structured interviews and documental analysis were used as procedures to deal with the whole of the data collected from the two relationships used in this research. The analysis of the data was carried out in a descriptive- heuristic mode, in keeping with the qualitative approach mainly adopted. Therefore, the content analysis and the documental analysis were used as procedures to deal with the data collected. The trust was identifying from benevolence and credibility that are structural parts of trust and commitment was identified from the contracts made between the companies that guarantee the components supply. After the data analysis the results or this study revealed that commitment and trust influence the decision making processes in helping for the wellness, development and maintenance of the relationship, but when both commitment and trust are not present in the decision making processes, other variants occur such as power, acquiescence, etc. Another conclusion is that commitment and trust are not necessarily and exclusively governed by marketing fundaments in situations involving quality improvements of the components. However the most interesting conclusion is that trust and commitment in the subsidiares companies are governed by relationships, decision making processes and networks mobilized in their corporate level.
