RESUMO

The aim of this research was to determine the hidrodymanic and kinetics behavior of a pilot system plant, treating swine liquid effluent, installed in the Zootechnical Department of the Federal University of Lavras. The pilot system was composed by several units working in series, such as sand retention box (SRB), static sieve (SS), acidification and equalization tank (AET), anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR), upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor (UASB), final sedimentation tank (FST), ultraviolet lights (UVL), greenhouse ( GH) and infiltration ponds ( IP). The present research was focused mainly on secondary treatment units namely ABR e UASB, hence the hidrodymanics and kinetics parameters were estimated as well, the monitoring and sludge analysis microbiological were carried out.The hidrodymanics parameters were estimated, by using potassium chloride ( KCl) in abiotic medium (water) and lithium chloride in biotic medium ( swine sludge). The kinetics parameters were estimated from total Chemical oxygen demand values, obtained during the system monitoring. The research was initiated on May 2010 and ended up on January 2011, summing up a period of 203days. The physical-chemical analyses carried through had been temperature, pH, alkalinity, total acidity, total, fixed and volatile solids, suspended, dissolved and settled solids, COD (total and filtered), BOD5 (total and filtered), total phosphorus, TNK, electric conductivity and oil &grease. The average temperature of the liquid effluent was about and the average hydraulic retention times 22,4 C 1,5 C and the applied hydraulics retention time in ABR were e 13,18; 16; 13,35; 10 e 8 hours and as concerned to UASB were 8,22h; 10h; 8h; 6 e 4h respectively. The determined hydrodynamics parameters ABR for KCl e LiCL were: average residence time (t ) 40,05 e 33,19; number of dispersion (d)= 0,12 e 0,092 and the flow type was characterized as tending to plug flow pattern from both tracers. As for UASB, average residence time (t ) were 33, 16 e 24,24 horas; d=0,85 e 0,89 and the flow type was characterized as tending complete mixture. The kinetic coefficients were: growth coefficient of ABR were y=0.098mgTVS (mgCODremoved)-1, decay coefficient Kd=0.02d-1; concentration of limiting substrate Ks=26861,6 mg L-1 and maximum growth rate μmax= 0.32d-1. The kinetic coefficients were: growth coefficient Y=0.091 mgTVS (mgCODremoved)-1, decay coefficient Kd=0.03d-1; concentration of limiting substrate Ks=282.6 mg L-1 and maximum growth rate μmax= 0.52d-1.
