RESUMO

Aim: to investigated quantitatively the color alteration, superficial roughness and composition of the bovine enamel after dental bleaching with carbamide peroxide 10% and hydrogen peroxide 6%. Methods: It was used 90 fragments of bovine teeth that were randomized divided in 9 groups (n=10) dependents on the bleaching treatments (n=10): Hydrogen peroxide 6,0% (FGM), Carbamide peroxide 10% (Discus) and dentifrice: Dentifricio byofórmula, Colgate Total 12 e Crest Multicare Whitenning. Bleaching treatments were made following the manufactorys instructions of each product. All groups were submitted to thirty thousands cycles of simulate brushing. The dentifrices dilutions were made in distillated water in the proportion of 1:3. The specimens were individually located in 4 mL of artificial saliva in closed recipients during all experiments. It was made an initial, intermediary and final measurement of the reflectance, superficial roughness and dispersive spectroscopy of Xray (μEDX). Dada were statistically analyzed by Variance analysis, Tukeys test and Dunnett (5%). Results: The results showed significant differences for all analysis, reflectance, roughness, μEDX. Conclusion: It was concluded that all bleaching agents were effective. It was observed highest values for superficial roughness after bleaching and brushing. After bleaching treatments, in spite of the bleaching agents used, there were observed a loss of mineral tissue, calcium and phosphate.
