RESUMO
Data models have been used as tools for data base design and implementation in order to allow the specification and construction of structural and access descriptions for stored data. Aiming the establishment of an adequate support for the design of hypermedia data, concepts related to the characteristics of data in the presence of hypermedia are explored and relationships are set between them. As a result of these relationships the T-Vision is defined as a vision for a four-dimension specification space that extends known data models and constitutes a framework for the creation, adaptation and analysis of data models with high levels of abstractions. The Abstract Categorization Map is also proposed, which enables to compare specification mechanisms that exist in hypermedia data models. This map is a resource for the assessment of specification mechanisms regarding broadness and sophistication levels and taking into account the abstraction level of the specifications, the different tasks that are performed by the user on data, and the T-Vision.
