RESUMO

This work focuses on the characterization of entrepreneur profile, to turn easier the Local Development initiatives. It starts from the assumption that knowing the variables that build the entrepreneur profile can efficiently offers training to community members that have the requested profile, increasing possibilities of success and, therefore, helping local development. The research demonstrates that exists differences among personal, technical and management characteristics, where the first is inherent to each individual and cannot be teach. The work identifies the eight entrepreneur personal characteristics most found in the consulted literature. After that, the story of four well succeeded entrepreneurs is analyzed and it is verified if the 8 identified characteristics can be found in these cases study. Finally, a comparison of extracted characteristics from literature with the cases study is realized, with the purpose to identify the most important characteristics to characterize an entrepreneur. The research results can subsidize new researches in local communities, identifying the existent characteristics in small communities to facilitate local development.
