RESUMO

This research is about candomblés of the Angola Nation from Campinas, and analyze them under the perspective of religious syncretism and the ideal of purity. Among the analyzed aspects are: the observation of space that reveals the transition from umbanda to candomblé besides the accommodation of new rites that were absorbed by one of the studied terreiros; the constitution of relashionships that are structured according to the forbiddance of incest and also how the characteristics of the modern family are are currently found in the família de santo including the transit of its filhos; the Lavagem of Campinas Metropolitan Cathedrals steps, which is a street festivity and even though it reveals itself as a lineages manisfestation, it still provides visibility for the candomblé of Campinas independent of the nation to which it belongs. Besides, it makes the black people stand out in a racist society, because it atracts to the public eye activists and the most diverse afro-brazilian cultural manifestations
