RESUMO
Methyl-5(or 4)-(3,3-dimethyl-1-triazeno)-imidazole-4(or 5)-carboxylate was shown to have in vitro antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeasts, filamentous fungi, and algae. Preliminary studies with mice, experimentally infected with Staphylococcus aureus, have shown that this new antimicrobial agent has in vivo chemotherapeutic activity comparable to that observed with penicillin.
