RESUMO

Most eletromedical devices for monitoring and measuring physiological parameters of human locomotion do not allow free movement, which causes discomfort to the individual as well as compromising the veracity of the collected data. The objective of this work is to design an equipment based on biotelemetry technology which would give greater freedom of movement. Biotelemetry is a method for measuring physiological parameters remotely. The success of this type of method lies in the fact that there are no cables between the subject and recording equipment, allowing greater freedom during locomotion. This dissertation describes the development of a multichannel biotelemetry system for the monitoring of physiological parameters concerning the human gait. This system is composed of two main parts: transmitter unit and receptor unit. The transmitter unit, which is attached to the subject, digitizes and transmits the collected signal by radio waves to the receiver, which is located at a distance of 10 meters minimum. The receptor unit receives the signal and sends it to a microcomputer which will process the information related to the subject s gait. Tests carried out in a laboratory with the prototype presented good results: the shapes of the wave signals generated by the transmitter were assessed, as well as the functioning of the interacting software with the user, which evaluated the receptor unit and biotelemetry equipment as a whole
