RESUMO

This thesis aims the analisys of História de Roberto do Diabo by Leandro Gomes de Barros, O ermitão de Muquém, by Bernardo Guimarães and “A hora e vez de Augusto Matraga” by João Guimarães Rosa. It shows the thin connection among the three narratives, through the themes and formal elements. It evidences the thin connection among them, through the thematic and formal elements that compose it. In a first moment, it builds up the theoretical and historical reference, dealing with the general characteristics of the narratives. In a second moment, it traces the historical origin of História de Roberto do Diabo. Soon after, it analyzes the Brazilian version of this narrative, written by Leandro Gomes of Barros. Continuing, the same analysis process is applied to the novel O ermitão de Muquém, by Bernardo Guimarães. So, outstanding important formal elements, it´s made a comparative analysis between the novel and the portuguese version of the narrative. The same analysis process is repeated with “A hora e vez de Augusto Matraga” by João Guimarães Rosa, in order to compare it with the reference text. Finally, the comparative analysis presents the similarities and differences among the works and it points to a dialogue among them. It concludes that, besides the evidences, there is no way to establish a direct relationship among them. However, in another sense, the verisimilitude level observed in each one of them indicates an updating of senses for a same general narrative line, capable of connect them, creating a literary dialogue that surpasses centuries, genders and styles.
