RESUMO

The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the microleakage with espectrofotometric test, in class V restorations restored with one-bottle adhesive systems and self etching systems used with and without etching the dentin. Three kinds of adhesives systems were used: Clearfil Megabond (Kuraray Co.) self etching system; Single Bond (3M Dental Products) one-bottle adesive system, alcohol and water solvent; Prime &Bond 2.1 (Dentsply De Trey) one-bottle adesive system, acetone solvent. One hundred thirty two human teeth (premo lar) were divided in 7 groups, 20 class V restorations were prepared in dentin for each bonding system. The same adhesive were used with and without the etching agent. A group of amalgam restorations were used as a negative controI. The specimens were prepared, dyed with 2% methylene blue, sectioned, triturated, and evaluated with espectrofotometric testo The results were submitted to ANOV A. It was founded that there was no significantly differences in microleakage between the adhesive systems when no etching agent was used; however the Single Bond adhesive system showed statistically significant less microleakage than Clearfil Megabond e Prime &Bond 2.1 when 37% fosforic acid was used to conditioned dentin. The systems Single Bond and Clearfil Megabond had the same behavior when the manufacture instructions were used, the first one used with etching and the last used no etching
