Avaliação institucional e gestão no curso de administração de empresas: desdobramentos para o projeto pedagógico

RESUMO

Brazilian education is currently going through an important period. Organizational changes in higher education are being carried out, aimed at consolidating an institutional reorganization on the part of the government and Higher Education Institutions. One of these is institutional assessment. This research was based on a program of institutional assessment consolidated in higher education institution. The overall aim of this research is to examine the management process of institutional assessment at an HEI in the State of Santa Catarina, and its expression in the pedagogical project of the course of Business Administration. For this, it was necessary to: identify the methodological approaches and procedures that guide the institutional assessment within the institution; examine the structure of the pedagogical project of course, analyze the implementation procedures and the results of institutional assessment carried out in the year 2007; examine the management of the results of the institutional assessment and, above all, identify the role and place of institutional assessment in the pedagogical project of the course. We carried out a theoretical mapping of evaluation policies in Brazilian higher education in recent decades. Official documents of the institution and authors who discuss the institutional evaluation were also used as references in this research. The analysis procedures were based on content analysis. Based on the data analyzed, we noted the importance of the work of the academic managers and the institutions concern with decision-making and its application in the pedagogical project. Institutional evaluation is used by the institution investigated as a tool in the search for solutions to the issues raised by the assessment itself. Thus, it can be concluded that assessment has a key role for managers, and consequently, for their decision-making, faced with the management of results and their implementation within the pedagogical project of the course in business administration
