Avaliação in vitro da dureza superficial de uma resina acrilica para microondas e rugosidade da mesma e de duas ligas metalicas quando submetidas a agentes quimicos de limpeza

RESUMO

The aim of this study was to evaluate the Knoop hardness and roughness of microwave acrylic resin and the roughness of two metal alloys: Co-Cr and Ti-6Al-4V when immersed into two denture cleansers. Forty-eight samples of Onda-Cryl acrylic resin were made with a metallic bar exposed in one side. Eight samples with Co-Cr alloy were immersed in denture cleanser Polident (G 1 ), eight in denture cleanser made in Manipulation pharmacy (G2), and eight in water (Control) (G3); the same procedure was repeated with Ti-6Al-4V samples (G4, G5 and G6, respectively). All samples were kept in synthetic saliva at 37°C and immersed in the soIutions during 5 minutes, 3 times a day. The Knoop hardness and roughness were verified immediately after polishing (TO), and after 1 (TI), 15 (T2), 30 (T3) days. The Knoop hardness was evaluated using microhardness Shimadzu IIl V-200 and the roughness in roughmeter Surfcorder SE 1700. The results were submitted to a statistic analysis and showed that: a) Knoop hardness was significantly different for groups Gl and G4 during TI and T3 (14.028::t2.784; 14.056::t1.761) and for the groups G2 and G5 during T2 (16.992i:2.243); b) roughness of acrylic resin was different for groups Gl and G4 during T2 and T3 (O. 144::t0.062; 0.209::t0.383); c) roughness of Co-Cr alloy, showed differences for group G2 (0.104i:0.035) during TI; and group Gl (0.148:!0.016) was different on times T2 and for T3 time all the groups were differents; and d) roughness of Ti-6Al-4Valloy, showed that the group G4 was different for T2 (0.119:!0.005) and T3 (0.108:!0.037). Regarding to alloys, the group G3 (0.083:!0.018) were different during TO, G6 (2.354:!0.767) and T3. It can be concluded that the denture cleanser Polident reduced the acrylic resin hardness and do not interfere in the roughness of acrylic resin and alloys studied.
