RESUMO

Groundwater physicochemical and microbiological evolution in irrigated area with anaerobic filter. Campinas, Civil Engineering College, Campinas State University, 2003. 1130pag. Master Dissertation. The main aim of effluent application on soil is to reduce, or eliminate the use of fertilizers and supply the water necessity. Proper leandling in the system is fundamental for groundwater protection quality. Several places is used as main supply resource due to quality deterioration of superficial waters. This research took place in the municipal area of Limeira S.P. Its main goal was to monitor groundwater quality alteration in an agricultural area used as effluent post treatment of an anaerobic reactor. The experimental area was divided into blocks with maize crops and subdivided into parts irrigated with water and anaerobic effluent. The irrigation method was employed by ascending flow filled with bambu surface, shallow furrow technique. Considering soil field capacity plus plant hydric necessity, were applied 20, 40 and 60 cm. Eleven monitor wells were built in the area. It was distributed among the maize parts irrigated by water plus effluent. The disposition these monitor followed the groundwater flow direction and hydric blade crescent order. Groundwater quality was controlled by physicochemical and bacteriological analyses such as pH, color, turbidity, solved total solids, electrical conductivity, salinity, chloride, nitrate, nitrite, total coliform quantification, escherichia coli, faecal streptococcus, (Enterococcus) and heterotrophic bacterias. Anaerobic effluent did not influence the supervised groundwater quality. But, pluviometric precipitation was able to emphasize the effects of contamination for some elements the use of effluent on soil. It was observed that on the dry period there was significant difference, for some parameters, regarding the irrigation with water and effluent. The similar occurred the control well and the well for the irrigated parts with water and effluent on the same period. It should be considered that, effluent irrigation has a good potential as nutrient supply for soil and plant. Besides providing necessary water for agriculture. However, it was necessary and proper handling, plus system constant supervision for to minimize and contamination effects on soil and aquifer
