RESUMO

The purpose of the present research was to evaluate the image quality, the sensibility and the dynamic range of three digital systems (Sens-A-Ray*, Digora**, CDR***), E-speed film**** and digitalized film. The objects of the analysis were five: three anatomical regions from dry skulls, one aluminium density scale and one aluminium block with roles. It were used 50, 60 and 70 kVp, with exposition times of 0.05, 0.08, 0.13, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8 and 2 seconds. In orther to obtaining the images, dosage measures were made, to achieve a more accurate evaluation of the relation between exposition time and dosage. Image quality was subjectively analysed in a pattem way, in function of time of exposition and kilovoltage; the variation of these factors has allowed the evaluation of the sensitivity and the dynamic range of the systems too. It were taked 105 radiographs for each system, performing 525 images, which were evaluated by six examiners, by means of a classification from O to 4. The results showed that the storage phosphor system has offered the best quality of image and the dynamic range, followed by the digitalized filmo The CCD systems, were placed in the opposite side of the conditions mentioned above. The CDR system has showed the larger sensitivity, followed by the Digora system. So, based on the evaluated situations, it was concluded that the Digora system ood the best performance, attributed to its good image quality and sensitivity, together with its wide dynamic range
