RESUMO

Complex digital objects bring together many types of digital artifacts (e.g., text, image, audio etc.), and are usually composed of content artifacts and metadata which describe, relate and organize them. When interoperability standards are adopted, such objects may be shared and reused through the Web, but the adoption of these standards usually requires specific tools for authoring. As a consequence, the author faces a difficult process of multiplication of metaphors and tools, which can generate a specialist dependence. In this context, this work proposes a methodology for authoring complex digital objects, which is completely document-driven. It adopts the In Loco Semantic strategy, in which annotations process occurs concurrently with the production of content. For the development of this work was performed, at the beginning and during its evolution, an exploratory research involving the study of key elements for understanding the problem and interpretation of context. The validation of the research occurs with a practical example of use. The main contributions offered by this work are: a methodology optimized for authors of complex digital objects, reducing the effort of the conventional authoring process; a semantic annotation pattern for the education domain; a tool for building complex digital objects in Unit of Learning format of the IMS Learning Design specification; systematization of the main tools for semantic annotation and authoring of complex digital objects.
