RESUMO

The integrated crop-livestock allow a series of advantages, but the intensive land use without technical criteria regarding the grazing pressure and machinery traffic can bring damage to soil physical quality, as manifested by compression. In these more intensive systems of production there is growing concern in relation to energy balance. The large amount of inputs added to agriculture, not always related to production, has become the systems less competitive. The study objectives were to evaluate the effects of animal trampling, in addition to machinery traffic during the agricultural operations on the physical attributes and crop yield; as a practice of scarification remediation of soil compaction on crop-livestock dairy; the introduction of legume on the yield of corn; lime application on the production of crops and the balance of energy production systems. The experiment was conducted in the city of Anta Gorda, localeted in Taquari Valley on Entisol, from may 2010 to October 2011. Treatments consisted of two cover crops of winter (oats with and without pasture and vetch without pasture) and corn silage in the summer, and two forms of tillage (tillage no scarification and tillage with scarification), totaling six treatments with three replications. The mechanical resistance to penetration was higher in no-tillage and grazed treatments only after the first year of grazing, which did not occur with the density. There was no increase in density of the soil in-depth caused by grazing added to the machines traffic; scarification of the soil improved the soil physical conditions and irrespective of the presence or absence of grazing, there was rearrangement of the soil after a short period. However, after 10 months, although we observed positive affect of scarification through higher rates of water infiltration into the soil; the introduction of legumes resulted in increaseddry matter production of corn just to treat scarified. Liming did not result in increased production of winter crops; the dry matter production of winter crops and summer did not differ between tillage with scarification and tillage without scarification; the tillage treatments were more efficient in terms of energy.
