Atividade fisica e os dominios da qualidade de vida e do autoconceito no processo de envelhecimento

RESUMO

The present study arises from the knowledge that the ageing process is universal to all human being. This is clearly seeing as well as that the world population and also the brasilian one had increased at this specific population, showing its problems and illness common to them. This study has the objective to analyze in which way this population, that practice regular and prolonged physical activity, realize the relation between this practice and their actual quality of life, as well as how they self-concept themselves. Topics of ageing process, physical activity, quality of life, well-succeeded ageing and self-concept were researched and analyzed to verify how they integrated and acted on the health and quality of life of this population and how this people perceived it. This study counted with 37 volunteers, with age between 50 and 80 years of age, who practices regular and prolonged physical activity, with minimum scholarship of the second degree of the fundamental school. Two questionnaires were used, the SF-36 was the instrument to evaluate quality of life and the Self-concept Factorial Scale ? EFA was the instrument to evaluate self-concept. The volunteers came from three different places: Hidrogimnastic ? Physical Education School/UNICAMP, Body Activities ? SESC/Campinas and Center of Body Counciouness ? Odenise`s Center of Body Counciouness. This is a descriptive exploratory study with convenient population. It was used the statistical package SAS and Pearson?s Chi-square test. The results showed that exists a relationship between the practice of regular and prolonged physical activity with the Quality of Life and the Self-concept. The volunteers pointed as well that there is a big relationship between the practice of regular physical activity e the Quality of Life perceived by them at that moment.
