RESUMO

The species of the gender Eremanthus, are known popularly as lamps and wood lamps and found in several savannah areas. Your essential oil is very used by the industry of cosmetics, being produced in Brazil and exported for several countries. For being used as cicatrizant by workers involved in your production, this oil was selected for studies of antiulcerogenic activity. The work had beginning with the essential oil, supplied by Purita Oils Essential Industria e Comércio Ltda, obtained by it drags to vapor. The oil was then submitted to the classic models of ulcer induction for verification of your possible antiulcerogenic potential. In ali the tested models, ulcer induced for anti-inflammatory, absolute ethanol and immobilization and cold (stresses) the essential oil of lamps presented inhibition of the ulcerative lesions indicating antiulcerogenic activity. The essential oil of lamps was then submitted to a purification process being obtained then: acid iso-valérico, alpha-bisabolol, terpenos, fraction C7, C8 and residues, these three last rich in alpha-bisabolol and terpenos as revealed the cl 1romatografic coupled gaseous mass espectrometria. Of these fractions two (alpha-bisabolol and terpenos) they were selected for evaluation of the activity antiulcerogenic. The same models for screen of the activity antiulcerogenic were used. Two characteristics were necessary so that the fractions above testeq continued to be studied, that go active in the screen model and in enough amount. Of the two fractions, the rich in alpha bisabolol was chosen for the continuity of the work. The rich fraction in alpha bisabolol it presented effect in the ulcer models induced by alcahol and ulcer induced by immobilization and cald. As much the rude essential oil as the rich fraction in alpha-bisabolol presented systemic activity, characterized in the ulcer model induced by ethanol. The activity antisecretory was studied in model camera of Ussing where the rude essential oil and the rich fraction in alpha-bisabol didn t present activity. In animais previously treated with histamina activity antisecretory was not observed also. As much the rude essential oil as rich fraction in alpha bisabolol were evaluated in. models that involve citoprotection factors, and the results discarded the participation of sulfydril groups, NO, and prostaglandins. An increase in the production of stuck protecting mucus in the gastric wall was observeçi. The results suggest the composition alpha-bisabolol it is the possible responsible for the activity antiulcerogenic of the essential oil of lamps and thisactivity is it can be directly in receivers of prostaglandins of the type E1, or similar to substances as sucralfato and subcitrato of colloidal bismuth
