RESUMO

The main objective of this work is understand the meaning of reprobation in Mathematics, on 5th series of elementary school. I used as theorical and methodologic approach, the pressuposed of Michael Foucault, through of what it was possible undestand the power as something exerted; that produces knowledge and exists only in relationships. With the objective to instrumentalize the research, I elaborated a questionary appointed to teachers of that discipline and serie, to identify their speeches with regard to the difficulties found on classroom, suggestions to overcome them and the conditions for a good work development of the teacher inside the classroom. These questions are articulated with the satisfactory or unsatisfactory performance of the pupil and their consequences that can be the success or the crash of this pupil. The teacher s speeches about this performance are knoledge fragments of the pupils that are transformed in power pieces. I verified that the teacher s power exerted on schollar quotidian and Math teaching, through the observation and register of pupil s behavior face to the schollar contents and activities, produces a kind of resistence to the discipline power, manifested through the disorder, desmotivation and desinterest of the pupil, resulting in reprobation foreseen in our teaching system, as a control and social exclusion form. I verified, either, the existence of discipline power that has as target the normalization of the citizen that, at last is nothing else than State racism in action, a way to eliminate the weaks and purify the human race, allowing that only a few, the normals , productives and dociles can reach higher levels in the Social scale.
