RESUMO

This essay is the result of experience related to the behavior, attitude, anxieties, desires, and expectations of the student body and has as main focus of study Critical Thinking. The subject is relevant, after all, being critic or acritic, results from the existence of many integral parts of a whole, and are components that interact as cause and effect, interfering and constituting a given phenomenon in a given area of existence with its boundaries, expressing internal states of stability and instability. A multidisciplinary analysis of Critical Thinking was used, directed towards interrelations between family, school, and society, an inseparable triad in the formation of mentalities, ideology, and personality. It is based on these interrelations, in their greater or smaller degree of critical reflection of everyday reality of the human universe, that is, it becomes possible to promote the diffusion of the process of thinking critically. Because it is multidisciplinary qualitative work, the method chosen was hypothetic-deductive with an approach technique based on theoretical conceptual descriptive studies, and, the theoretical content desired for the work regard interrelations between family, school, and society. Critical Thinking, in this project, surpasses academic treatment as it focuses on popular culture and literatura de cordel as a trace of incipient criticism. Family, School, and Society are the institutional settings that stimulate the construction of Critical Thinking, but only bluntly reproduce the selfishness of fragmented science, disregarding philosophy and favoring instrumental rationality, thus allowing selfish hedonism to imprison Critical Thinking and cast off the perspective of alter-perception, weakening the possibility of comprehending reality for a harmonious human coexistence on the planet. From this conclusion the essay presents Critical Thinking as a therapeutic revealing agent of man in his ever-growing imaginary needs and anxieties, emphasizing the dialectic turmoil of the contemporary world, having on one hand, the hedonistic selfishness and infinite ambition of man, and on the other an incipient movement based on alter-perception, seeking to awaken man to a new perspective of self-knowledge as an integral part of the planets bio-psychosocial totality. Thus, the project reaches its main goal as it investigates the interrelations between family, school, and society, as well as the development of contemporary Critical Thinking, emphasizing the necessity for deeper academic research on the importance of this subject for the improvement of social relations.
