RESUMO

The human formation of the student is an important theme within the current issues that we face as educator. Ironically, the individual violence and its group manifestation, the war, has been executed by people who had access to formal education, showing that the intellectual formation by itself doesnt ensure a commitment with the sublime issues and ethics of the civil process. Hence, a statement from the educator, related to the philosophical and pedagogical aspects of Viktor Emil Frankls work, is needed. Having experience the inhuman reality of the concentration camps during the Second World War. Viktor E. Frankl produced a theory called logotherapy. Initially, the logotherapy was related to the psychotherapy through the meaning of life. However, its postulates started to be used in a broader sense in other fields of knowledge, such as Education. This research is one of a few projects which directly relate Frankls thoughts to Education. Frankl wrote more than thirty two books. It is possible to extract educational bases from his books which have philosophical supports as the phenomenology, the existentialism and the existential humanism. As stateb by Frankl, the human existence falls apart if it is not lived meaningfully day by day with and with self-transcendent quality.
