RESUMO

This research is intended to investigate the marked topic constructions present in the language spoken by the graduated population of Salvador. The samples are data from the corpora of the NURC/Salvador Project 1970 and 1990, which are fully analyzed based on Sociolinguistics, Functionalism and Pragmatics. The results contribute to the discussion of the Portuguese spoken in Brazil and its consideration as a language of prominence of subject and topic, mainly in the colloquial register.
