RESUMO

The present research has the purpose to inquire into and analyze the importance of Pastoral da Criança(children organization) at Comunidade Santos Apóstolos Pedro and Paulo( community Santos Apóstolos Pedro and Paulo) at Jardim Pacaembu, in Campo Grande MS, identifying its relation with the local development. To consider the human, social and defensible development, is equivalent to think about a new concept of development that articulates the dynamism of economical growth as other factors, as: the growth of social and human capital, the conquest of a good governance and the defensible use of natural capital. For the materialization of the research, we examined thoroughly the theoretical support of the scholars and researchers who discuss thematic subjects related to the Social Capital, Territory, Community, Volunteering and Local Development, as well as, the documents were analyzed by a detailed study that explain the historical of Pastoral da Criança. For the research procedure, we chose the quantitative and qualitative methodological focus from the tools for the data collection. The first constitutes in-loco interviews, with the purpose to know the reality of the community and later the application of a form containing closed and opened questions for the analysis of the results, after the study and analysis of the material, it concluded that the presence of Pastoral da Criança at Comunidade Santos Apóstolos Pedro e Paulo, presents perspectives of local development, because it encourages the growth of social capital as confidence, solidarity, participation, comradeship, human capital investing in qualification through courses and lectures, shares on their reality through reflections on the bible texts that face with the actual reality, formation of leaderships; fortifies the feeling of appurtenance among others.
