RESUMO

The urban space is a place of social interaction, but it is also the place where the life of each individual takes place. If we are becoming more urban as time passes, it becomes very necessary to understand this space under different optics. This dissertation tries to contribute with new points of view on the relations between the urban space and the people who live in it. For such analysis, it was necessary to use a theoretical and methodological apparatus that dealt with the city under the prism of its playful, affective and emotional character. This support was found especially in the texts of Situationist International (SI), a group that appears in Paris in the 50s, in an attempt to question the effective standards of the society of that moment, including modern urbanism. Leaving from this situationist reference, and focusing the study in the small place called Ipioca, on the north of Maceió-AL, the work took as guides of the experience the children of the place. On this path, techniques as the drift were used, and psicogeographic maps were produced as result of this experience, creating a sort of affective mapping. These analyses, based on a way of seeing architecture closely related to perception and the way people relate with places, allow to rethink the role architecture and urbanism have taken in our society. Thus , they are taken into a game, and questioned from a not so new, however little explored point of view.
