Aprendizagem cooperativa no ensino de química : uma proposta de abordagem em sala de aula

RESUMO

This work is placed within a context in which a Professional Masters Degree of the Post-graduate in Science Teaching of the University of Brasilia, specifically within the Research in the Teaching of Chemistry: Concepts and Processes of Teaching-Learning. It has as its aim to develop a teaching-learning strategy based on theoretical-methodological principles of the Cooperative Learning (CL), attempting at: creating conditions for a better teaching of Chemistry contents, at contributing to the formation of a conscious citizenship, and at stimulating cooperative attitudes in the school and in the social environment. The guiding principles of investigation-action were adopted. The analysis was performed taking as a basis the register of students actions, organized by the Cooperative Groups, from August to September 2007, on a field diary along with the classes programmed by a Chemistry Unit Plan. Classes were recorded on digital filming and analyzed according to a matrix built up and according to the AC presupposed principles. Every information collected during the process was compared with the data of the Social e Cultural Questionnaire (QSC) and with the information obtained about the school context. The research work was carried out in a high school belonging to the High School System of the Federal District FD, where low performance was detected together with the lack of motivation and high percentage of failures in Chemistry, this fact being attributed to the traditional approach to the teaching of Chemistry. This approach is linked to the relations and experience of the professors academic life, wich was ratified at the graduation level, initial formation when the necessary tools to deal with the dynamic process of teaching learning are not well applied adequately. The Cooperative approach gives the students the opportunity to work and interact with their colleagues, to learn while doing, to be true agents of the teaching learning process, thus providing the resources to fill in the blanks left by absence of students participation typical of the conventional approach. To carry out the present research a Unit Plan was structured based on the CA, and which set off the commitment to bargain meanings involving Chemistry knowledge contents, giving emphasis to the integral students formation, and where ethical questions were put forward involving citizenship. As a result of this research a text was prepared to give support to the professors stating what is expected from a Professional Master Course, which also included an explicit proposal of the theoretical/methodological framework of the CA. As opposed to the work of organizing the students in the classroom called traditional group, a new working experience is presented within the cooperative groups.
