RESUMO

This work has as main objective, to analyzer the current scenery of the market of operators of plans of assistance to the health in the market of Recife and its Metropolitan Region. The Sector of Health Supplements in Brazil had undergone significant changes from the institution from Law 9.656/1998 and the creation of the Agência Nacional de Saúde Suplementar (ANS). Tied with the Health department, the ANS has as objective regulated the market of Supplemental Medicine. Throughout the years, the Agency very advanced in its paper to normalize and supervise the sector. It limited lacks, it ended the internment limits, forbade to the election of risk for part them operators and promoted the implantation of a system of exchange of information, beyond monitor the economic and financial balance of the operators. The research was developed by means of secondary data, harvested of the ANS, the IBGE and other trustworthy sources, where we tried the variables necessary to suggest that the understanding of a market study of how empirical. In followed, we look for to collate the data of the operators of plans of assistance to the health the national level, with local data of operators of assistance to the health of Recife and its Metropolitan Region. It was observed that the facts of a study reported in the consumer market expansion and leadership, especially in Northeast Brazil
