RESUMO

This study shows applications of the Schwinger multichannel method with pseudopotentials at four different levels of approximation: ( i ) static-exchange approximation, ( ii ) two-channel electronic excitations, ( iii ) elastic scattering including polarization effects and ( iv ) multichannel coupling with polarization effects. The theoretical results agree with available experimental data, considering the electron impact energy where each approximation is designed to be valid. The use of pseudopotentials to describe the core of molecular targets in electron scattering calculations was shown to be very efficient in all studied approximations, and confirm the hints of earlier studies. The method is a reliable and powerful framework to describe many-electron molecules. Also, some details on the validity of the Schwinger multichannel method in each approximation are discussed
