RESUMO

The purpose of this work is to show the OmniSAT system of data mobile communication and tracking vehicles of Autotrac, applied to vehicles fleet market. The OmniTRACS system was developed in the United States by Qualcomm Incorporated and implements, besides security and logistic, also bi-directional mobile communications applied to government and utilities markets, which use integration with computational systems including operations such as access to databases. Initially, it is described the satellites communications systems and FDMA, TDMA e CDMA multiple access techniques, followed by a comparative analysis with numeric and graphics simulations between these systems showing theirs advantages, efficiencies and contributions. It is also showed the products and applications that use data communications over the network of mobile phones. The concepts of global positioning systems are introduced through GPS satellites. With the purpose of validating the applications and success of the OmniSAT system in the Brazilian and Southern Common markets, the commercials aspects of the products and services are discussed, including statistical data and illustrative case examples.
