RESUMO
The purpose of this work is to compare two methods for calculating the performance of coherent PSK digital communication system in presence of thermal noise, intersymbol and cochannel interference. In the first method an upper bound on the error probability is determined using the maximizing interference probability desity function. In the second method the error probability is calculated with any desired accuracy utilizing a power series expansion of the interference characteristics functions.
